Steve Hladio, a key part of the coaching staff that steered the State University of New York at Albany in its transition from Division II to Division I-AA, is now the offensive line coach for the FIU Golden Panthers.

In that same role for the Albany Great Danes from 1996 to 2000, Hladio helped that program compile a 41-13 record. He also served for three years as camp coordinator for the NFL's New York Giants, who train each summer at the university. Prior to his tenure at Albany, Hladio coached the Harvard offensive line.
Hladio, 32, graduated in 1986 from South Western High School in Hanover, Penn., where he was a standout in both football and wrestling. He accepted a scholarship at Shippensburg University, where he was a three-year starter, earning all-conference honors for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference in his senior year.

He served as a graduate assistant for the football programs at University of Cincinnati (1991-92) and Boston College (1993-94) before joining Harvard.
He is married to Michele Hladio. The couple has a daughter, Emily.
